Monday Morning Smile

It's Monday morning. Again. And it's cold. But I defy you not to smile at this classic sketch from Eric & Ernie...

Oh god, I'm old enough to remember it being broadcast the first time. Guess that makes me middle aged :-(

I watched for the first time, I think, as a request on Ask Aspel. So I'm definitely feeling my age!

What will it take to liven up this dull North Road affair?
Again nothing but apathy on the doorstep while out leafleting. This aint gonna be one of our best, thats for sure. Just another going through the motions 5% I'll wager.

The Lib Dems aren't helping matters by not mentioning us on their leaflets and just refering to us as "others". They need to play fair.

I think for all of our sakes we all need to be playing the controversy card to hype up this most boring of by-elections and what better way by making the BNP centre stage? I suppose it could have been worse - it could have been held in early January.

From the feeling off locals I think that AMC is going to romp home comfortably.
They have put out loads of quality leaflets (apart from not mentioning us) covering everything local.
Could have done with a tough stance against local dog poo with Anne Marie pointing to an offending steaming heap of said matter in a Focus leaflet (no John Vasey jokes please).

I think that by the effort put in by Labour, you have all come to the same foregone conclusion as us in the BNP about what the result is going to be here. More than one leaflet and canvassing would be a huge waste of time and money.

So you don't want to say why you were banned from the bnp forum, Trev?

Another thing which is dishonest on the LIb Dem leaflet is the diagram which highlights how North Road voted last time in 2007.

It is slightly skewed by the fact that their second best result (Steve Jones who was an Independent from about week 2 of the 2007 campaign)should have been included in with the "others".
This would have shown the gap between Lib Dem & New Labour to be narrower, with the "others" column being significantly higher!

I'll take that as a "No reply", Trev.
So much for the bnp being the party of free speech, don't ya think ;-)))

From what I hear there is going to be one hell of a leaflet going out early next week which will put the cat amongst the pigeons.(nothing at all to do with the BNP but undeniably controversial stuff all the same!!!!!). But I understand it will conclude the election with the same controversial buzz which it started with - before it fizzled into the boreathon which was always was going to happen once everyone sobered up to the obvious fact that there was going to be no winners apart from Alma Curry and all efforts would be a useless drain of energy and money.

The last of our leaflets were completed this evening, so now it's just a case of sitting back and waiting for the result, which will be pretty medium for us in this marginal, just like the other 3 times we turned up here. Nothing more to improve our vote apart from a bunch of wierd lefties highlighting the fact that the BNP are standing in this election and reminding our people to get out and vote /stinging ordinary people into voting for us by insulting scores of them who hold anti immigration views by calling people who are concerned about immigration as Neo Nazis.

After getting soaked in todays drizzle which turned our leaflets to pappier mache, which will be all for an unspectacular 5-6% in the most boring election ever I hope there is no more local elections until 2011. But unfortunately it looks like Haughton West will be up for a by-election early next summer.
