Flippin' like a pancake, poppin' like a cork...

Huge news from the BBC website today that the Banana Splits are getting what's being called a 'modern makeover' by the Comedy Channel.

We can, of course expect a souless rip-off of the late 60's/early 70' children's TV classic. But it did give me a thin excuse to raid You Tube for this wonderful clip.

For those of us of a certain age, Saturday mornings meant being glued to the TV chanting "Size....of an elephant!" and "One for all and all for one" at the screen during the show's classic cartoons. All together now, "Tra-la-la, la-la-la-la...."

Surely not a make over, you mean a poor modern day copy what would the Three Musketers or the Arabian Knights say?

I personally have the full set on DVD which was hard to get.

I had to write to "Dear Drooper"

Those anoying girls at the front door with the guitar, it seems like only a few years ago, tempus fugit, Nick, you never know what the post man may bring.

Lol. I'm afraid the the three girls at the front door have faded into oblivion as far as my memory's concerned. Also, I thought that it was "Uho, Jango!" but now I stand corrected.

That's the brilliance of sites like Wikipedia, but it does rather take the mystery and romance out of dimly-held childhood memories. Nothing to argue about down the pub when you can find it all out at the press of a key.

Have you got any HR Pufnstuff too? ;)
