Darlington Cycling Campaign

I had my regular meeting with members of the Darlington Cycling Campaign yesterday - cycling in the town centre and ensuring that cycling was incorporated into traffic management schemes were amongst the items discussed.

Thanks to Mike McTimoney, who has the picture above on the campaign's website as a novel solution for people who think only those on foot should be allowed in Darlington's new Pedestrian Heart...

Mark Burton certainly won't be cycling anywhere in the drag queen clothes he's pictured in on his website

Not very edifying for a councillor to be seen like that!

And why, if it's a "communty website" do you only get Marks' details when you click on local councillor and ward surgeries?

Clearly it's like the last days of the Weimar Republic over in Harrowgate Hill...

Seriously though (or semi-seriously anyway) the point is made on the thread on Mark's site that he was dressed up for his stag do. All of us have to have a private life (even if Mark's gear is the stuff of nightmares).

As for the jibe about the community website only having Mark's details on as a councillor, well, you'll have to take that up with the site administrator - Cllr. Burton I believe...

Yes, quite, but parading it on a website like some badge of honour is rather distateful.

...and I thought the photo was done "in the best possible taste" (he writes throwing one leg over another).
